Reliant
Reliant was a British car brand best remembered for lightweight three-wheelers and fiberglass-bodied sports cars. Founded in 1935 near Tamworth, England, the company initially produced compact commercial vehicles before expanding into passenger models such as the Regal, Robin, and Rialto. Their low weight, small engines, and economical running costs made them practical transportation for buyers seeking an affordable alternative to a conventional car. Reliant also built four-wheeled models, including the Kitten and the Scimitar range of coupes and sporting estate cars, showing a more ambitious side of the company’s engineering. Vehicle production ended in 2002, but the Robin remains a recognizable part of British motoring culture, while the Scimitar continues to attract classic-car enthusiasts.
