Marcos

Marcos is a British sports car brand founded in 1959 by Jem Marsh and aerodynamicist Frank Costin, whose surnames formed the company name. Early Marcos cars used lightweight wooden chassis structures and fiberglass bodywork, reflecting the brand’s strong connection to club racing and motorsport. Models such as the Marcos GT, Mini Marcos, Mantula, and Mantis became recognizable for their long hoods, low rooflines, compact cabins, and rear-wheel-drive handling. Engine choices ranged from small four-cylinder units to powerful V8s, depending on the model and period. After several production interruptions, Marcos has returned with plans for new lightweight, driver-focused sports cars that preserve the company’s traditional emphasis on simplicity and direct handling.
